Associate Principal

It is with great honor that I introduce myself as the new Associate Principal at Quail Run Elementary, and It is also with great pride that I return to Marana Unified School District.

I started my educational journey at DeGrazia Elementary. I then went to Tortolita Middle School, and I attended and graduated from Mountain View HIgh School. I continued my education at the University of Arizona for my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and eventually returned to the U of A to attain my Master’s in Educational Leadership.

I have worked in education for the last 14 years. I began teaching in a 3,4,5 multi-age English Language Development class for three years. I made a move to general education to join my mentor in her last few years and loved another nine years teaching in 3rd grade. In my last year of teaching I looped with my class in 4th grade. In addition to my classroom duties, I was also the summer school administrator and the 21st Century Program Coordinator. Finally, I made the tough decision to leave the classroom to be a School Improvement Specialist where I had many educational leadership opportunities including curriculum development, data analysis and student discipline.

When I am off campus, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones. I love to travel to nearby places where I can enjoy a short road trip. I also have my extended family in Syracuse and try to get back as often as I can. I am a dog lover and am obsessed with my little Bernie.

My educational beliefs are that ALL students are gifted and as educators we need to enhance their skills and harness their strengths to make them productive members of our 21st century society. I am passionate about equity in education and giving students every chance to close the opportunity gap. I believe in working with an entire community for student achievement and emotional well- being.

I am elated to begin this school year as a team with Mrs. Evans, the students, staff, and families. I know that Quail Run has many traditions and am excited to immerse myself in the Quail Run community. I look forward to a new fulfilling experience and exciting new school year!
